Follow-up Comment #32, bug #42136 (project octave):
It looks to me like it's still in qtermwidget. I haven't tested, so please go
ahead and confirm independently. But in Octave, it's a variable called
LineChars and a function called drawLineChar in TerminalView.cpp. That
function is still in qtermwidget master:

Instead of letting the font do the work, it's trying to draw unicode box
characters itself, but ignores any characters with angles or curves.
