Follow-up Comment #25, bug #55908 (project octave):
I think the data member needs to stay on the stable branch even if you apply
the change so that it's no longer used. This ensures that the sizes and
offsets of all the classes and their data members stays the same from code
compiled against the header files in version 5.1.
