Follow-up Comment #28, bug #55908 (project octave):
My intention was that the new (faster) code path is only taken when a graphics
object is deleted from groot. In the other cases, the same code should be
executed as before. (At least this is what I was trying to do).
>From your description it sounds like this isn't working as expected.
I am currently a little short on time that I could dedicate to Octave. But it
would definitely help if you can manage to find a minimum example that
reproduces the issue.
