Follow-up Comment #3, bug #56032 (project octave):
Speaking of which, the "if" statement documentation -
https://octave.org/doc/v4.2.1/The-if-Statement.html#The-if-Statement - is
written as though parentheses are required. Parentheses aren't actually part
of the if/while/for syntax; they're a grouping operation that we choose to use
there as a stylistic convention. Might be good to mention that, at least as a
footnote.
