Making changes in fundamental language features might really mess up the work
of many programmers relying on this. Thus marking as won't fix and leaving
this item open for now to get more comments on this.

If you want to be sure to use a "native" Octave function version, make use of


builtin ("native_function_name", arg1, ...);
