Details:
Matlab supports implementing various array-creation methods such as zeros(),
ones(), eye(), ... for classes.
Documentation:
https://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/matlab_oop/class-support-for-array-creation-functions.html
One example of a class making extensive use of this is quaternion:
q = zeros(2,2,'quaternion');
returns one quaternion instance looking like an array of quaternions on the
outside.
There already is a // FIXME in this direction in the code
(libinterp/corefcn/data.cc).
This bug is mainly to track progress on this.
