Follow-up Comment #10, bug #57212 (project octave):

I'm not sure we can save .fig files in Octave that can be opened in Matlab.
Please, correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm slightly leaning towards mapping the content of "applicationdata" to
"__appdata__" when loading a .fig file. Maybe in "hgload.m" or "struct2hdl.m".
