Follow-up Comment #17, bug #57730 (project octave): Per the wiki: https://wiki.octave.org/Octave_for_Microsoft_Windows#Installers_for_Microsoft_Windows If using the tar / 7zip file, after installing it, you need to run the post-install.bat and then run from the .vbs file Even 4.4.1 had issues when running is direct from the exe file, which may or may not be related to the issues you are currently seeing.
