Follow-up Comment #28, bug #57730 (project octave): The latest version of the io package is already bundled with Octave for Windows. In case trying to install it broke the bundled io package, remove Octave. Then install it again. If you are using the .zip or .7z archive (not the installer), run the "post-install.bat" or execute "pkg rebuild" from the Octave prompt once after unzipping (see also [1] referred to on the download page).
