Follow-up Comment #6, bug #57861 (project octave):

Yeah, making these editor behavior changes on the default branch is good with
me, no need to get this in at the last minute.

I don't really use the GUI editor at all, but I wanted to propose some
opinionated defaults so that people using this editor to contribute changes
and new functions to Octave have these easy style things fixed for them.
