Follow-up Comment #17, bug #53124 (project octave):
I reinstalled to c:\program files\gnu octave\* and get the same error you are
seeing in comment #16.
If I install to c:\octave\* it doesnt do that and continues with the install
and fails later on due to errors in source file compile as expected.
So at least for me, there seems to difference in the pkg install depending
where octave was installed.
