My pleasure, but what will we do now? Downgrade to earlier Qscintilla, or work
around it?

AFAIR I only noted this starting in January, i.e., after the mxe-octave
upgrade to Qscintilla 2.11.4; if you wish I can backout the relevant cset in
mxe-octave and see if that helps.

Any chances this Qscintilla version might also affect that other elusive
issue, bug #57902? That one also started somewhere this year.
