I suppose you tested on Linux. On Windows the bug may have been just looming
until it got exposed after Sept. 16 (at least on my system and with my
mxe-octave build tree, see below). AFAIR I didn't notice the "inactive cursor
issue" last summer, I only noticed much later on.
@Torsten:
Qt5.13.1 may have been a factor; maybe together with a lot of editor / debug
refactoring that JWE did around mid Sept.
I usually work with an mxe-octave build tree for 2-3 months (only regularly
updating dev Octave and some OF packages) and update that build tree itself
maybe every 2-3 weeks. So the Qt update in my system may well have occurred
only late September.
