Follow-up Comment #48, bug #57635 (project octave):
By the way, maybe related:
There was a time that I could consistently crash Octave-7.x.x during startup
when, before Octave shows the prompt, I closed the empty Editor tab by
clicking its close button.
(I have the undocked editor mostly on a separate screen).
It's a bit elusive as I just tried this with Octave-5.2.0 and an older
Octave-6.0.0 and since those tries I can't get Octave to crash anymore. Go
figure.
In Octave-5.2.0 I could never provoke such a crash.
