Follow-up Comment #67, bug #57635 (project octave):

@Philip: The auto completion list closes on Esc or by RETURN when the desired
expression is selected. The problem is that after the auto completion list is
closed, the editor shortcuts are not working until you have clicked with the
mouse into the edit area. 

Actually, this is the issue which seems to be more difficult to fix than the
one with the broken focus after having closed another tab.
