Follow-up Comment #3:

The attached patch adds the remaining graphics properties, implements the
"MarkerFaceAlpha" and "MarkerEdgeAlpha" properties, correctly handles
"MarkerFaceColor" "auto", and adapts the documentation for the new graphics
object.

The transparency - like everywhere else in Octave - comes without back to
front sorting. So the results might look unexpected for 3d scenes.

I believe that it is ready for review if anybody should be interested.
