Follow-up Comment #1:
Confirmed, however this appears to have been fixed already for the next
upcoming release of version 6.
The only functional change to condest.m since version 5.2.0 was made for bug
#57968, and it appears that change fixes this bug also. Closing this bug as
fixed with version 6, or you can download the fixed condest.m function file
from the repository and add it to your Octave load path.
