Follow-up Comment #5, bug #58374 (project octave):
I also think it is bad to use the full file name in the argument to
\includegraphics macro. That's likely to cause trouble if you want to
distribute those files to someone else. Normally, I think the .tex and .pdf
(or .eps) parts of these {pdf,eps}latex files are stored in the same directory
and people rely on the TEXINPUTS (and similar) environment variable to get
TeX/LaTeX to load them properly.
