Follow-up Comment #6, bug #58374 (project octave):

I will look into the Texinputs enviroment. Thank you!
With an old version of Octave the full path was working fine and kept files
niceley organized.

For now I wrote a small Octave script changing the \ to / of the
*includegraphics* command....
