Follow-up Comment #80, bug #57635 (project octave):

If I undock the window (i.e. it's a separate window), I can barely see the
flickr, but it's there. However, the command ctrl-s (save) still does not work
after I cancel the autocompletion dialog by pressing the ESC key.

So my conclusion is that hiding / activation does not restore the ctrl-xyz
keys.
