No, because this problem is caused by the damaged proxy chain which is set up
in file-editor-tab.cc and file-editor.cc. If you run the Qt demo code that I
have attached to this bug report: This code demonstrates the tab closing
problem, without autocompletion and without using scintilla. The example jams
Qt with a simple QTabWidget and a proxy chain as it is used in the Octave GUI.
This is really sad.
The problem is solved for me by removing setFocusProxy in file-editor-tab.cc
but if i recall correctly there were problems on windows as mentioned in
comment #46.
