Follow-up Comment #93, bug #57635 (project octave):
In

they have now announced Qt 5.15.1 as fix version. However, the patch is
already available on the head of the Qt repository. It fixes void
QWidget::setFocusProxy(QWidget * w). Because 5.15.1 is far in the future, I
have merged the patch into the faulty version 5.13.2. Then built Qt and then
built Octave against the patched 5.13.2.
Result: All errors have disappeared (closing tab problem and the
autocompletion trouble).
My conclusion is that open source is harder than commercial software. In
commercial software, you can decide which library version is statically linked
and delivered with the executable.
