Follow-up Comment #98, bug #57635 (project octave):
With the patch of comment #96 the problems seem to be fixed on my Windows PC.
After closing a tab the cursor is back immediately on another tab that gets
focus, and the cursor is usable.
Also the autocompletion list popup reacts to the Esc key (before this fix I
had to double-click the highlighted word to get rid of it, that was he only
"way out" of this popup).
I'll leave it to Hg200 to further scrutinize the new behavior.
