Follow-up Comment #6, bug #58109 (project octave):

Could you please test with a recent build from the stable branch. Changeset
http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/2b52e473b6ef fixed some other
focus issues with the editor, maybe the one described here is also addressed
by it.
