Follow-up Comment #2, bug #58737 (project octave):
I can't reproduce this on Debian, so likely not a general Octave bug with the
audio functions. This may be a problem with the PortAudio interface with the
Windows sound API. If this behavior is reproducible and is of concern to you,
you may need to do some more work to investigate the cause and see if anything
can be done about it in Octave.
