Follow-up Comment #1, bug #58313 (project octave):

Thanks for pointing this out for both local and remote execution. This
changeset:

https://sourceforge.net/p/octave/parallel/ci/4045205aad9c969271022c7416586521244b76e7/

should fix this for both by first trying the octave-cli-VERSION and then
octave-cli.
