What about
for i=1:1000; sparsersb(sparsersb([1]),"render", "crash.eps" ,1024); endfor
-- does it crash on any of the 32 or 64 bit builds you used in comment #33 ?
BTW, if bug #58790 is triggered by memory allocation failures, then I find it
difficult to occur in the cases here, which use minimal amounts of memory...
