I full-heartedly agree on the first point. I didn't realize (or forgot) that
we have `unwind_action`. That looks like the better choice.
Wrt your second point, maybe we could check the code for places where
`unwind_protect` can easily be replaced by `unwind_action`. If it turns out
that we don't need `unwind_protect` anywhere, we could deprecate (or further
discourage) its use.
