Follow-up Comment #3, bug #59215 (project octave):
Regarding comment #2, yes exactly. But Octave and the MXE installer only
search in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\javasoft\jre
Which I showed by the screenshots does no longer exist for Java 15 setups on
MS Windows :-/
An not too complicated fix might be to extend those searchers to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\javasoft\jdk
after the jre for old Java versions failed.
