But, ones(3,1) is not empty? Sorry for the confusion,
And ordinary users who are not familiar with octave will most likely think of
it as `loop using index`.
loop_var = ones(3,1)
isempty(y)
size(y)
for var = loop_var
disp('hey')
disp(var)
loop_var =
1
1
1
ans = 0
ans =
3 1
hey
1

1
