Follow-up Comment #19, bug #59830 (project octave): The new configure test breaks when cross-compiling for a host for which the build platform cannot run executables. Maybe we could check the value of `$host_cpu` first and run a specific test only for MIPS hosts (with appropriate guesses when cross-compiling).
