Follow-up Comment #2, bug #60079 (project octave): Are the related entries in the context menu of the terminal active or disabled? _Is it really safe to have the same settings file across different releases?_ I would say yes. The ini file is not executed like a script, but the single preferences are requested by the gui. New preferences in newer versions are just ignored (not requested) by older versions.
