Follow-up Comment #9, bug #60675 (project octave): Looking at the log, I'm not sure debug_on_error() has anything to do with this. It doesn't appear that the Octave interpreter is issuing any errors, rather it is issuing warnings. I would try debug_on_warning (1) and then running your script. When you get the warning warning: implicit conversion from matrix to sq_string Octave should drop you in to the debugger.
