Follow-up Comment #2, bug #60746 (project octave): I pushed a patch to stable here that might fix this issue on Windows Vista: https://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/35389a23d09a I don't have a Windows Vista system. So, I can't test myself. I would be happy if you could test with a nightly build from tomorrow (2021-June-08) or later to check if it works for you. You can download a nightly build from here: https://buildbot.octave.space/#/download Please note that the Octave 6 series will be the last one to support Windows Vista. Octave 7 will require Windows 7 or newer. The fact that it took so long for someone to report this bug probably means that there aren't many people that are still using Windows Vista and try to use Octave.
