Follow-up Comment #25, bug #60646 (project octave):

I also meant to mention that I think I understand now why calling the
octave_dock_widget::save_settings function from the octave_dock_widget
destructor wsan't working properly: save_settings is a virtual function but
when called from the destructor it won't behave as a virtual function normally
does.  So any overloaded versions in derived classes won't be called.
