I am using qt with hardware accelerated graphics (nvidia with the proprietary
driver).

Indeed I cannot replicate the problem with octave 6.2 on my mac.

I should also note I am running Xorg instead of the default wayland, not sure
if that would make a difference. I currently can't try wayland, but I will
keep in mind to compare once I can.
