Follow-up Comment #36, bug #60273 (project octave): It looks like we currently actively advice to prefer OpenBLAS over reference BLAS in our documentation: https://octave.org/doc/v6.4.0/External-Packages.html > BLAS > Basic Linear Algebra Subroutine library. Accelerated BLAS libraries such as OpenBLAS (https://www.openblas.net/) or ATLAS (http://math-atlas.sourceforge.net) are recommended for best performance.
