Follow-up Comment #17, bug #61812 (project octave):

I'm debating if we should `#define _XOPEN_SOURCE 700` also on the stable
branch. (I'm leaning towards yes.) Or do you think that change would be too
intrusive in the current phase?

The other part of the change (i.e., possibly removing all manually defined
M_PI) should probably go on the default branch only...
