Follow-up Comment #46, bug #62207 (project octave):

Is that with the latest stable branch and no patches?  What about with the
last patch that I posted applied to the stable branch?

Either way, could you also try building with the address sanitizer enabled? 
If you use --disable-java --disable-docs then I expect the build to succeed
and maybe then the tests will run and point to a problem that isn't obvious
from the location of the eventual segfault.
