Follow-up Comment #3:
I'm attaching a patch that should check that the dimensions in the input to
ones/zeros/Inf/NaN/eps/... are scalars (instead of silently taking the first
element and ignoring the rest).
Exemplary output:
>> zeros(1, 1:3)
error: zeros: dimensions must be scalars.
