Follow-up Comment #20, bug #62321 (project octave):

The change for the Bessel functions was done here:

That included changes to the underlying implementation in Fortran. (I don't
know if those were related or orthogonal to this.)

Michele's blog for his GSOC project might(?) give clues as to whether we would
need changes to the Fortran implementation of the Airy functions, too:
