Follow-up Comment #1, bug #62415 (project octave):
If you mean the behavior at the command prompt, then the feature is part of
the readline library, not Octave itself. So it seems to me that it would make
the most sense to have that feature be an option in readline and I don't see
anything to fix in Octave itself.
BTW, you can also disable this feature by adding
set blink-matching-paren off
to your ~/.inputrc file.
