Follow-up Comment #2, bug #62312 (project octave):
Was looking back through web.archive.org to see where the page change
happened, and I noticed that:
https://www.gnu.org/software/octave/NEWS.html
and
https://www.gnu.org/software/octave/news.html
are different pages. NEWS.html contains a copy of the 4.2 Release Notes.
news.html contains the rss style release headlines, and is what google takes
me to when I search Octave news.
I think NEWS.html needs to be removed, since it's not been updated since v4.2,
and just the individual NEWS-x.html pages should be left. Then, rather than
scrolling through the feed for individual releases, a header similar to the
NEWS-x.html pages could be added pointing to individual release notes.
