Follow-up Comment #26, bug #62352 (project octave):

I tested again with the installer from Kai's buildbots from today:
https://www.octave.space/data/stable/414/octave-2022-09-04-00-11-default-w64-installer.exe

With it, the settings and packages are successfully removed on uninstall.

I tested both with an installation for all users and for the local user.

While that doesn't fix the underlying issue, it would most probably help users
to recover from a situation where only manually deleting files helps
currently.

Would it make sense to cherry-pick these two changes to the release branch of
MXE Octave? Or are there risks in doing so?
