Follow-up Comment #4, bug #63051 (project octave):

I tested backwards through a few versions of Octave and it is broken in 6.4
but works in 5.2.  I don't know whether it is worth trying to use "hg bisect"
or just to go straight to graphics.cc to find the problem.
