To do the Events root finding I need to send a handle of the complete Events function to the root solver, so if there are extra inputs I still have to wrap the Events function in some kind of anonymous function or something in ode_event_handler.m If I understand correctly the use of functions with extra parameters is no longer documented in Matlab. The Matlab docs were suggesting the use of an anonymous function do bind the extra parameters in the calling code prior to invoking the ode solvers.
