Follow-up Comment #10, bug #63286 (project octave):

I see what you mean. Whether it accepts column only or both column and row, it
should say so up front, not wait until calculating the fourth output and only
then give an error.

Will wait on the optim package maintainers to weigh in.

Since sqp is a core function and fmincon is not, can someone comment on
optimization function input aspects, especially whether they should take only
column inputs or not?
