Follow-up Comment #2, bug #63389 (project octave):
You should really reports problem like this to your software provider (Mint).
Octave 6.4.0 is not supported any more.
The currently supported version is 7.3
Also, the problems you see is most likely due to your
particular software/hardware combo. Are you using Wayland?
Try switching to Xorg.
