@jgpallero: Is it feasible for you to test on a different Debian machine, one
running Testing or Stable but not Sid?

I'm also copying Sébastien Villemot, the Octave maintainer on Debian.
@svillemot: could you run the test from comment #2 on Debian Sid and see if
the assertions pass please?
