Due to:

octave::interpreter::the_interpreter () -> assign

is now used for newer Octave versions, so this should be fixed now.

I don't think, though, that I'll fix the missing inclusion 
of

<octave/cdef-object.h>

in the package, since I think that's better done by Octave, and seemingly
Octave-8.3 does it.
